A lecture of Natalia Galenchick “The guide to the modern Ukrainian art” will take place in the LES Gallery

On Saturday, March 31st within the bounds of the “Spin city” exhibition of Nikita Garts at 3 p.m. the lecture of Natalia Galenchick “The guide to the modern Ukrainian art” will take place in the LES Gallery.

The lecture will give a chance to the audience to receive the information about the situation at the modern Ukrainian art scene at the first hand. In the center of attention of the lecturer are the chronology of the Ukrainian modern art in the context of postmodernism; the history of the legendary Kiev "Park" squat; the role of the Center of the Modern Art established by J. Soros; the new generation of the Ukrainian artists and conditions of their appearance; movement of the Ukrainian art into the international context; zone of interests of modern artists; locations of actual art in today's Ukraine and its financing by private funds.

The lecture will be illustrated by some key art projects that will allow the audience to create a "map" of the Ukrainian modern art. After the lecture all those who wish can take part in discussion and ask their questions.

About the lecturer:
Natalia Galenchik, the critic and art manager. Natalia had graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (Kiev). She is a curator and coordinator of cultural projects in the Center of the Model founded by J. Soros (Kiev, Ukraine), the moderator of a series of courses on art in the “Cultural Project” (Kiev, Ukraine). Natalia is a coordinator of the Ukrainian and international exhibition and educational programs, among which are: «World Press Photo 2006», «Exteriors», «Bridge:ing», «Digital feelings», «And soul. And reason. And body», «ECO CHIK», CASE STUDY, etc.
