Opening of this conceptual exposition absolutely casually has coincided with the birthday of one of the main persons of the exhibition. Lev Melikhov, a remarkable photographer and wonderful person turned 59 years old. To give their best wishes came Lev’s friends, relatives, colleagues and «symbolic people of our epoch» — characters of his multivolume picture album «The Book about us».
Such artists, sculptors and photographers as Vladimir Brajnin, Konstantin Sutyagin, Kerop Sagomonjan, Olga Pluzhnikova-Orlova, Vera Elnitskaya, Vladimir Kurdyukov, Valery Ajzenberg, Nikolay Estis, Vyacheslav Piliper, Sergey Mejtuv, Natalia Berkutova, Victor Ahlomov and many others were present at the opening of exhibition; collectors, gallerists, critics, "art dealers" and curators of exhibitions: Annamuhammed Zaripov, Alexander Mironov, Akim Salbiev, Vadim Garshin, Ilja Trofimov, Vladimir Guljaev, Nina Poni and many, many others; the prose writer and dramatist Vyacheslav Alekseevich Petsuh, Colonel General Vladimir Mihajlovich Gryzlov, the Director of the Fund of assistance of development of friendly relations with Republic of Korea Mihail Viktorovich Klopov and many, many, many other people.
Paintings and photos are presented in one exposition space for the first time, and according to the visitors of the exhibition, it makes a stunning impression; not less interesting looks a combination of photos and drawings. The strongest aesthetic effect of an exhibition was reached; the «Portraits of Artists» exposition has deservedly received benevolent estimations and judgments from the famous collectors, critics and colleagues.
